Dear TSD Families,
Due to the increasing number of positive COVID cases in our district/community AND our decreasing ability to adequately staff our buildings, ALL TSD buildings will transition to "remote" education for the week of November 23rd, 2020. A special School Board meeting will be held Monday night to discuss and determine whether the remote period should be extended beyond Thanksgiving break. The agenda and meeting link will be announced and posted. Thank you.

COVID Update November 18, 2020

Dear TSD families,

Today, we have received information regarding a Mt. View cafeteria worker who has tested positive for COVID19 and a ST student who is a "probable" Positive case.  Along with the DOH, we are working through the contact tracing process. Thankfully, the cafeteria worker did not have "close contact" as defined by DOH with any students and therefore no students will need to be excluded from school. The ST student had already been excluded from school and thus had not had close contact with any other students.

Thank you. Be well.

Franklin County in "substantial" community transmission range

TSD is monitoring this situation. The Pennsylvania Department of Education recommends full remote learning if counties stay in the "substantial" range for more than one week. We receive updated numbers on Fridays and Mondays. All decisions about the type of instruction are made locally. At this time, we are continuing our safety protocols and are planning to continue "in person" instruction as approved in our recently updated Health and Safety Plan. Thank you for your cooperation and ongoing support.
Be well,
Mr. Benedick

Bus 29 Students will be remote tomorrow, Thursday October 22

Dear TSD Families,

Out of an abundance of caution, we are keeping secondary students who ride Bus 29 home tomorrow, Thursday October 22, 2020.  An individual on that bus has tested positive for COVID and students may or may not have had close contact with that individual on Monday or Tuesday of this week.  We are working with the Department of Health to provide a bus roster which will assist in their contact tracing process as they do with any positive COVID case.  However, because of the late hour, they will not be contact tracing until tomorrow.

We will interact directly with those Bus 29 students and families as we work through this situation.

Thank you,
Mr. Benedick
